Beautiful Dales

All is perfection in the Yorkshire Dales with little to mar the stunning beauty. The remains of the old industries of the Dales - particularly the lead mines - simply enhance the drama of the landscape. I hope that the miners staggering back into the daylight after a long shift underground derived pleasure from what they saw above ground. I'm sure they did. Did the Iron Age peoples on Harkerside, above what is now Reeth, cherish what they saw ? I'd like to think so.
